Day 3: Digging the Pond...

The pond is being dug. It's not too deep yet. A little rain would help to soften the ground. Speaking which: This dirt is WONDERFUL! It's sandy and dirty but not clay! We've lived with clay for over 20 years which is tough, dries out, cracks and is hard to grow in. This stuff should be nice!

The builder has a soaker hose going to soften the land in order to add dirt from the pond and then pack it down:

Here's the possible garden area. We were trying to kill off the weeds underneath with tarps. As you can see it's overgrown:
